8 Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Cleaning Company in Toronto

Letting a cleaning company into your home or office is a big decision. A few direct questions before you book will tell you more than any website. Here are the ones worth asking any cleaning service in Toronto or the GTA, including us.

1. What exactly is included in the clean?

Ask for a room by room list. A standard clean, a deep clean and a move out clean are very different jobs, and the difference usually shows up in baseboards, inside appliances, cabinets and window tracks. If a company cannot tell you what is included, you cannot hold them to it.

2. How is the price set?

Some companies charge by the hour, others charge a flat rate based on the size of your space and the type of clean. Ask which one they use, what would change the final price, and whether add ons like the oven or fridge cost extra.

3. Who will actually be cleaning?

Ask whether the cleaners are trained by the company, whether you will see the same people on recurring visits, and how many people usually come for a job your size.

4. Do you bring your own supplies and equipment?

Most professional companies bring everything. If you have allergies, pets or surfaces that need special care like natural stone or hardwood, mention it before the visit.

5. What happens if something is missed?

Ask how quickly you should report it and how the company makes it right. A clear answer here tells you how seriously they take quality.

6. Are you insured?

Ask what coverage the company carries and whether they can show proof. This matters most for commercial spaces, condos with building rules, and post construction work.

7. How do rescheduling and cancellations work?

Plans change, especially around moves and renovations. Ask how much notice is needed and whether there is a fee.

8. Can I read reviews from real clients?

Recent Google reviews that mention the type of clean you need are one of the best signals of what to expect.
